Primetime Africa co-owner, Dayo Adeneye, popularly known as D1 has opened a multimillion naira hotel called D&C Bar and Suites at 19-23, Oke Awo Street, Irawo, Bako Estate, off Ikorodu Road, Mile 2 in Lagos.
The hotel was launched sometime in June and when D1 was asked about it, he revealed that the hotel business is something he had been planning for four years, “knowing fully well that it’s an extension of what I do and I’m known for, the entertainment business,” the media personality said.
When asked about the hotel’s location and why he chose to use Mile 2, “We picked the area because nothing of the sort existed in that area till now. And residents in the environ have shown positive response to the investment. We are giving the people in that axis a feel of what is obtainable in Ikeja, Victoria Island and Lekki,”he replied. On if the hotel will have other branches, the Primetime co-owner who also owns Sierra Communications, replied in the affirmative, he said, “We are building a brand that will grow to become a franchise, as we speak, we are overbooked here.” The name “D&C” is actually an acronym for Dayo’s name and his wife, Caroline’s.
The hotel has 19 rooms, divided into Standard and Executive Suites. D&C also has a bar and a standard multi-purpose hall for events. The hotel is said to have cost about N309million.
